Helping Your Patients to Manage Their Cognitive Function

This is a new workshop from the Community Therapists Network designed to offer health professionals a general introduction to cognitive rehabilitation, helping you to support those patients suffering cognitive impairment problems, arising from their long-term neurological condition. It is particularly relevant to those professionals managing people who have had a Stroke, have Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Epilepsy or early stages of dementia.

The workshop, run by Dr Anita Rose, Clinical Psychologist, from the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Liverpool is divided into the following areas:

  • THE BASICS OF BRAIN FUNCTION
  • FACTORS THAT IMPACT ON COGNITION e.g. fatigue, sleep, pain and emotions
  • STRATEGIES FOR COPING
  • EXPLAINING COGNITION TO PATIENTS

Therapy Outcome Measure (TOMs) Workshop, 26th Feb,
Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

 

We are pleased to announce the next Therapy Outcome Measures (TOMs) workshop. This workshop, lead by Dr Alex John provides participants with tools to collect and measure outcomes data on clients receiving treatments. Delegates receive their own copy of Prof Pam Enderby and Dr Alex John’s manual ‘Therapy Outcome Measures for Rehabilitation Professionals: Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy’.

The day will include both theoretical and practical components
